Idaho House Votes to Stop Implementation of Obamacare Law

After a lively debate ranging from fears of civil war and secession to lost liberty and unsustainable fiscal demands imposed by a run-amok federal government, the Idaho House voted 49-20 to pass HB 117 to stop any state implementation of the ironically named Affordable Health Care Act. I threw in my .02 cents in support by pointing out that as a plaintiff in the successful Florida lawsuit ruling the Health Care Act unconstitutional, Idaho had to decide as a policy issue whether or not to spend money to implement an unconstitutional law. It is in fact contrary to good public policy to implement an unconstitutional law. It makes no sense to entangle the state in implementing the law only to undo it if we prevail on the appeal which is certain to be filed. The lawful course is to follow the court ruling which applies to Idaho and 25 other states and not implement.
