Urban Renewal Revision Bills Debated in Idaho House

Six bills containing restrictive changes to Urban Renewal laws drew considerable debate in the Idaho House this afternoon. Four bills passed and two bills failed. The two bills that failed sought to impose county wide elections for selecting commissioners and for bonding. Objection to those bills focused upon lack of substantial enough relationship between a countywide vote and the more limited geographic jurisdiction of Urban Renewal Agencies which are generally restricted to city boundaries. My vote tracked the majority approving four of the bills and voting against the two which failed.
